The Wave Organ is a unique acoustic sculpture located on San Francisco’s waterfront that transforms the movement of the ocean into a natural symphony of sounds. Built in 1986 using reclaimed cemetery stones and a series of submerged PVC and concrete pipes, this interactive installation creates haunting, melodic tones as waves push water through its chambers. Visitors can sit on the stone steps, listen to the ever-changing sounds of the sea, and enjoy stunning views of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz Island.
